It's been soooo long since I last posted &
soooo much has happened since the last
time. Those of you who know me well, know
what a perfectionist I am. I was really
hoping to get the yard finished & the
inside finished before I posted anymore
pictures. It pains me to admit that I can't
get it all finished so quickly. It may take
me years to finish (especially the yard).
So I decided to go ahead & post pictures
of what it all looks like now. We have
worked countless hours on the yard &
there's really not much to show for it. A
big portion of the time was spent just
trying to keep it alive during the month +
of triple digit temps.

This was taken after several much needed rains
& a tropical depression. The grass has really
perked up but as you may be able to see,
there are some dead spots that will take time
to grow over again. Before these rains, we
truly thought we were going to lose the whole
front yard.

The picture is a little far away, but if you look
really closely you can see the azaelas that I
planted. Oh wait, the deer ate all those, but
you may be able to see all the impatiens. No,
the deer ate those too & the hostas & the
hydrangeas. I planted a veritable buffet for
the creatures. ANYONE LIKE VENISON??!!!

Bob's "condo"-workshop to house all his
toys-lawnmower, etc.

There are a few more plants in the backyard.
Not many. What the heat didn't destroy, Clyde
dug up trying to get cool, or the armadillos
rooted up.

There are so many briars coming up through
the middle of the plants that I've decided to
stop planting & concentrate on killing the
briars.

This was taken a few nights ago as a storm
was passing through. It was a beautiful
sunset. The picture doesn't capture it all.
Still sprinkling a little.

Bear with me. It's been so long since I've
posted, I forget that everything is posted
backwards, so some of the pictures are
out of order. This is the upstairs back bedroom
taken in the afternoon so it is very bright.
Same room. As you look through the
pictures, you'll see wall hangings not
hung, mirrors not hung, still need
some furniture pieces, etc.
One of the sink areas in the Jack &
Jill bath between the 2 upstairs guest
bedrooms. Other sink area is almost
a mirror image.
Upstairs front bedroom

Looking down stairway that leads up to
the guest bedrooms.

Master bedroom.

Front entry hall. Office to the right, dining
room to the left.

Office, which for the life of me I can't seem to
keep clean. You'll notice some remnants of
the old blue & pink days. Their days are
numbered.

Dining room

Pantry. Doesn't look quite as neat
as it did before all the stuff got put in.
Pantry to left, butler's pantry straight ahead.
Bath off of downstairs bedroom. Again,
pictures are out of order.
Downstairs front bedroom

Laundry

Hallway coming in from garage. Immediately
to the left is the doorway to the stairs leading
to the gameroom/kids room. Second door is
laundry room, & door just before the pantry
door is a bedroom.
Half bath off of mudroom just inside garage
door.

Mudroom just inside garage door.

Stairway leading to gameroom/
kids room.

Gameroom/kids room.

Bath in game room.

Family room looking into kitchen. Through
the arched doorway is the garage.

Through this arched doorway to the right
is the master bedroom, to the left upstairs
to the guest rooms.
The big red caboose.

That's all folks

Not sure why I'm posting this picture,
except that I love this carpet & the room
at the top of these stairs is becoming
one of my favorite rooms in the house.

Wasn't going to post any pictures of the
finished floor because I get sick everytime
I see them. They are a mess-you may or may not
be able to tell in the pictures. They will be
completely handscraped & refinished, which
will be yet another delay in moving.

Hallway looking at butler's pantry, pantry
to the left, dining room through doorway
to the right.

Dining room. I think the reason the floors
look darker is because the lights weren't on.
There are areas however, that are darker
than others, another reason for refinishing.

Pool after finish has been applied

Almost full

Finally completed. Waterfall is exactly
what I'd hoped for--sounds great. Firepit
will be completed after we move in.

Part of patio area & walkways

Finished waterfall. These rocks came from
someone's pasture about an hour west
of here.

Back of waterfall

Standing beside patio area looking
toward waterfall. The 2 pipes sticking up
from the patio is where the firepit
will be built.

As you can see in the background, the fence
is being installed.

We had no choice in fencing material. Black
metal is the only option-one of the
drawbacks in living in a gated community.

Would someone tell what's-his-name that
my chickens have come home to roost!
